Ides of March, 2026

March 15th is a good day to leave the diadem at home.
Caesar's name came to mean Emperor—lasting into the 20th century, as Kaiser and Tsar. He was emulated by Napoleon and Mussolini. He did cross the Rubicon but could not quite end the Roman Republic as a republic. He did loosen it, however, so others could finish what he started.
Julius Caesar cast a long shadow—as did Tarquin the Proud, once upon a time.
